Thank you for participating in our survey to garner feedback about the Educator Preparation review process. This survey should take between 15-20 minutes to complete. You can save your responses and resume if need be. Please feel free to share this survey within your networks of teachers, school staff and administrators, and educator prep faculty. Thank you.

Background

Our Commonwealth is working towards a vision for day one teacher readiness that centers explicit anti-racist practices that enable teachers and administrators to nurture the academic excellence, cultural and linguistic competence, sociopolitical consciousness, and emotional intelligence of all students. Educator preparation is essential to achieving this vision. We are also interested in an explicit examination of teacher preparation instructional programming. Working together, we hope to simultaneously build a foundation of anti-racist practice and deepen instruction and program-level expectations in the next evolution of the educator preparation review process.

We are reaching out to folks from all sides of the education system to lend your voice as we work to develop effective pipelines for educators from all backgrounds and effective educators to nurture students from all backgrounds. In large part thanks to our existing collaboration with educators, administrators, and faculty, we’ve identified that the educator preparation review process has aspects that need to change. We recognize that the current review process and past engagement processes have disproportionately excluded the needs, experience, and expertise of some of our most dedicated educators. This survey is designed to garner critical feedback from a wide range of stakeholders to center equity in the educator preparation review process.

This is just one way to engage in this process, and we hope you’ll join us at the Ed Prep Town Hall on May 18th, 2022 on Zoom or sign up to be interviewed for a deeper dive.

All individual responses will remain confidential and will not be shared with any outside party, including the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, your preparation program, or your employer.  Rivera Consulting Inc. will review your survey, and all reporting will be done in aggregate, meaning that your responses will never be linked with identifying information in any report or presentation.
